First Day Of Autumn...

Sometimes kids have the greatest ideas ever. Not often but believe me that when they do we have to praise. I was so tired and he was so tired and we wanted something healthy but they wanted milkshakes and fries.

So none of it is organic, conscientious or responsible and my 2 year old with crazy hair (I say she is a mix of Strawberry Shortcake and Nick Nolte) enjoyed a chocolate milkshake at 10pm on a Friday night way past her bedtime and it felt so... good.

Because they have taught me I can find serenity, divinity and happiness anywhere. I no longer need a place to feel sacred and at peace. I find church on the shores of the beach and hiking through the woods. I find my sanity and mental health among milkshakes, french fries and laughter. Because I don't need much when I allow myself to just be...

Some of you have asked how come so many turtles continue to visit and where do all this wildlife come from. I reside close to the marsh. The wetlands, marshes and sea grass cradles my space. The presence of hawks, geese, turtles and crabs are a daily occurrence and here's the latest visitor...

Alligator snapping turtle.
Yes, they do snap.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

  12. So cute! I know what you mean about finding happiness anywhere. I also love random trips with my daughter. Last night she was so hyper at her bedtime I got her dressed and took her to the playground to run off her energy until 9pm in the pitch black. We had such a laugh !
