About Green...

I woke up before the sunrise on a rainy morning to take pictures of the St. Patrick's Day celebration in Savannah. As I made my way through Forsyth Park to where the floats were being assembled a man walking his dog said to me " Enjoying the Irish sunshine?!" - to which I just smiled. Growing up the only things I knew about Ireland were a place called Shannan's Pub which is located on the island of Puerto Rico and where many live rock bands from stateside play. The second is Guinness which I really dislike the taste of.

Savannah, GA has been my teacher and guide. Among the many lessons she has taught me, Ireland, oddly enough is one of them as well as all things Irish. The Irish presence is palpable in Savannah and we are in the top 5 as one the biggest St. Patrick's day celebrations in the country. To follow my very first St. Patrick's Day parade and the largest party in our city.

Now, do not be upset if your Monday did not look like ours...
Next year y'all should come down and celebrate with us.
In the meantime...

“May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,

May good luck pursue you each morning and night."

  5. Ditto on Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil except the movie version with John Cusack! I told Alpha Hubby, "We have to go visit that gorgeous place!" You guys take St. P's day VERY seriously. It doesn't even warrant a blink here. Isn't it funny how each place does it's own thing? We have watermelon, peach and frog leg celebrations and the like!
