Monday Poem...

I stood there underneath the magnolia tree and there was no one to watch me glistening under the moonlit southern sky. I stood underneath that moon for awhile bathing in her silvery milky white light. As in draped in diamonds my cinnamon skin sparkles. I stand on my own spinning cycle while the earth moves underneath my feet slowly just as slowly as the water evaporates from my skin. This would have only been another Sunday if I had not chosen to write about it. There was not a single witness in sight. I could only hear the cicadas singing their summer anthem and every now and then the silhouette of a black cat. Today would have been lost in the dark waters of my mind. But my fingers do this waltz on the letter keys in hopes by morning light my eyes will see clearly.
