Isn't that what we are all called? A mad woman. I can recall from childhood that a mad woman is a woman with too many views and strong opinions. In history I learned all about Vivienne Haigh Wood Eliot, Zelda Fitzgerald, Sylvia Plath, Frida Kahlo. Geniuses called mad. In her bestselling book Women and Madness, Phyllis Chesler argued that women’s anger, or rebellion, was frequently misdiagnosed as sickness.
So we are constantly doing that whole balancing act trying to be better. Assuming we are acrobats, jugglers, clowns the whole circus. Because we have to serve the hot meal, teach the ABC's, keep a clean house and do it all while wearing lipstick. Because no one ever asks any dude hey how do you do it all... Do you have it all.
No wonder we read blog after blog of woman crying and screaming out loud. Talking about everyone including their Mamas. Sometimes my mind begins to sew them, all of them, together and they form a rare and complex patchwork of ideas. So beautiful. So delicate. So strong.
And this is how I have decided to jump back in from my break of writing with my own redemption post. With my own proclamation that I too am a mad woman.
Around Savannah...
Savannah hosts Picnic in the Park every year. Every year is themed including the picnic and the performances. This year was some enchanted evening. Over 23,000 picnickers come out feast and share in community. That is how I ended my weekend and a few shots I wanted to share...

it's been way too long since i stopped in & said hello Adriana. Sorry for being such a bad blogger friend. I LOVE this post and what I remember from posts you wrote when we first met - you sometimes say things I've been thinking and so it's good to feel at home in your thoughts! LOVE the photos of your daughters and Savannah and think it's been far too long since I was there. Happy October! love, India Banks
