A Manic Post...

Maia was going to a 1920's themed birthday party.
Like every kid last minute she asks that I transform her.
Every bobby pin in the house was holding my hair.
As I pin each curl piece on her head...
My hair now begins to cascade down...
Right there in front of the mirror as I put each strand of her hair in place...

I could see her first date...
I could see her Senior Prom...
I could see her graduating from college...
I could see her wedding day...
I realize...
I am now the mother of a young lady.

Trying not to rush it I snap myself right back.
Right back to what it is in front of me.
The almost 12 year old girl.
The one I wish to give every single tool she will ever need to deal with this complicated life.

6 hours later...
I said goodbye to my oldest bird as he departs and takes off in flight...
His path is taking him North. True to nature he flies in the springtime on a northern route.
Not certain and without any plans of when we will be seeing each other next, he went on his new journey.
As I watched him go I hope I have provided him with every single tool he needs to be successful.

12 hours later...
Mia makes me laugh until I cry after she decides to be angry and yells at Steve during Blues Clues. Because my cycle is never ending and dealing with three different individuals at different stages of their lives can be demanding and quite manic.

Right now...
I am getting dressed and primping up...
There will be glitter on my eyelids and sky high shoes that make me walk with grace...
A room full of friends ready to celebrate life...
I am glad that they too share their tools with me...
So I can deal with it all...

Not fazed...

Enjoy the weekend peeps... Stay Sweet!
