Casey and I have planned a date night this weekend... I feel like getting out of the castle for a bit..dabbing some perfume and reconnecting... We have been overstimulated... But I am aware that I rather have a full life of inspiration so I bring myself back down... not too low... more like a bird cruising at comfortable heights... I bring myself down.
We plan to celebrate a friend on his birthday and relax within the familiar sights and sounds of our home... A balance of alone, shared and private time...
I am working on new photo techniques and ideas that are inspiring and feeding my constantly hungry and creative spirit... My birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks and with age comes many more ideas... At times the young think we are not forward with our thinking and techniques because we are no longer in our 20's... Younger generation just sit and watch closely... Ideas are relevant regardless of age...
I am ready for August and ready to celebrate the last month of our Summer season... Because I can already smell the cinnamon, cloves and brown sugar but I wish to do nothing more than to gulp every last bit of sunshine and summer goodness...
So I take it easy trying to slow it all down... slow like the beautiful south... but not too slow where we are stagnant...

Would love to thank all new and old followers and readers... When I began the blog I never thought anyone would read... Maybe a few friends... but the emails from the readers it's overwhelming and knowing that we connect regardless of our location makes me feel grounded and connected to humanity.
I would also like to thank the many sponsors that approach me on a daily basis but I would never sell something I honestly did not believe in...this space needs to be kept honest while I document our lives and experiences is NOT a paid or sponsored commercial. I feel I will no longer inspire anything or anyone if I sell out or work for posts... I guess that's the punk rock 15 year old self speaking that still resides within this soul.
Happy Weekend Peeps... Stay Sweet!

ReplyDeleteMay you and your hubby have a magical evening together!
Date nights can be so fun, from going out to, as we have done, staying home and having a cupcake with a candle in it. Enjoy. You have some beautiful shots there. Love the black and white.

ReplyDeleteWonderful post! I loved this line: "Ideas are relevant regardless of age..." so true - think of people like Colonel Sanders and KFC (didn't start cooking chicken until 40's and franchising until 65); this was such a thought-provoking post - love it - and the pictures! Wow.
