Been running through the streets and alleys of downtown Savannah all in the name of art and the opportunity of getting a better picture. Subject matter alone is never enough. I want more. Going into the world with a camera you have to work with reality as it is. You can't change it. You have to find an order in chaos. I go about finding what it is I want to say and try to make it work in a rectangular space. When I am alone photographing, observing my surroundings, I begin to feel the elements, the make up, the life in that space. Whatever makes that place special I hunt as if searching for gold.
It's the light.
It's the shadows.
The thing about artists is the fear they have not created their ultimate masterpiece. So they keep seeking for more... creating.
We are enjoying the summer like winter is around the corner. We are not letting any daylight be wasted. Like farmers we are enjoying the sunrise and sunsets. Like a farmer I see they are growing like weeds and I am not even watering them...
I really wish I could indefinitely postponed everything because I am loving this summer.
