This is how Savannah, GA begins the Spring season.
We color our fountains green for the second largest St. Patrick's celebration in the nation.
This is where you tell yourself. Really does Savannah, GA has a large Irish population?!
Well maybe NYC and Boston are larger but Savannah knows how to party.
Now before I go and celebrate the weekend I leave you with an Appletini.
All dressed in green in case you don't do the green beer.
And a toast...
"May the winds of fortune sail you,
May you sail a gentle sea.
May it always be the other guy
who says, "this drink's on me."
Happy Weekend Peeps and please stay sweet.
I totally forgot the greening of the fountain was today. Meant to attend. Trying to soak up all of atmosphere in my last Savannah St. Patrick's Day before I move to NYC at the end of the month. Growing up here you tend to forget or ignore the specialness of the this time. That is until you have friends visit from out of town and you see the splendor through their eyes. I'm giving it a fresh glance this time around.
ReplyDeleteWe do take it for granted but Savannah is lovely. Good luck with the NYC move.
