Where Everything Is Music...

Have you ever sat down to watch a movie and the movie was so moving because they were speaking your language and you watch yourself right there on the screen and you are moved to tears? Then, the tears begin to fall and the only thing you are grateful for is that the eye shedding the tears it is the side no one is sitting at. Giving you time to wipe off the tears and pretend you weren't even that moved to begin with.

It was the music, it was the movement, it was that one actress and the way she danced. She is free as I once was. It was as if I was watching myself with an unbreakable spirit with all the strength. Because I lived that same scene while some DJ was playing the same song. I could feel it in each pore every beat and I am carrying each memory its in my DNA.

Saturday came around and delivered a college friend of mine that was passing by. In between red and white wine, sinful desserts and stories I was once again transported. All these memories from the 1980's which came with their own vocabulary and music.

Because music has been my lover over the decades and my friend Julio was quite specific when he was describing me to my husband that did not know me back in 1989.

- " Music was everything and everything was music for Adriana  Blackie*"  I quote.

Now is Sunday my favorite day of the week. Not sure when or in which decade it became my favorite day of the week all I know is my soul goes to church. Through the words of Neruda, Marquez and Cervantes. By the easy and mellow attitude it has.

Today is also my son's twenty first birthday.
One day... I am certain he will find words to describe his past and memories.
One day... he too will reminisce full of nostalgia the way I have this weekend.
One day... He will understand.
I love you my sweet boy.

I am so grateful for the fantastic life I have led thus far...

Where music is everything and everything is music.

Have a great new week.

*Blackie was my teen nickname when I roamed the earth aimlessly. One day I will write about Blackie.
