Colortopia ...

So the research has begun for painting and redecorating. I found a great color scheme on a wallpaper from Anthropologie which was not only ridiculously expensive but I hate wallpaper with passion.  Maybe it is because, and you might be able to tell by now, that I get ridiculously bored and need a change quite often and wallpaper is almost like a tattoo...Very painful to remove.

I found on my research and awesome tool and a partnership.  I found the My Colortopia website. A site with so many great creative projects and with one click you can visualize what your room will look like before you paint. The tool I really played with is called My Image Inspiration. The whole thing is easy. A picture of anything from your favorite Van Gogh or Monet to your favorite dress or picture. Upload and Voila. It shows you a palette of the colors and schemes available to you based on the picture uploaded.

Go ahead and click here and try for yourself. So with colors named Prairie Sage, Whispering Wheat, Red Grapefruit, Soft Meadow and Creamy Mocha I think I can achieve the Provence look I want for the sun-room.

Later go to the Color My Room add the colors you want to your own room by uploading a picture of it or by using one of the rooms they have available like the one I used here.

There you go painting made easy with a few clicks.

  1. What a cool idea. Takes the guessing out of picking colors.

  2. When I saw your title I started to laugh. Somehow you always manage to make me laugh :) This is a very cool idea - why have I never heard about this? So incredibly sane. So what are you thinking? Any purchases?
