About Superheroes...

Confused about the freedom that the weather provided me with this weekend I stayed in...
No in between... all the way in. There were some tears shed for a boy that I raised and birthed long ago. There were some sleepless nights wondering of the what ifs while he embarks on his new journey. But I have found this to be the hardest thing when it comes to the path of motherhood.

Letting go.

We take such good care of our children from the moment they emerge into this world we take such pride in what we create. We are in complete and utterly in awe of our creation. We count toes and fingers and caress their soft skin as if we sculpted every single pore... As if we, with precision carefully placed each eyelash and hair strand.
After all that...

How do we detach?

So I go about my day... trying to keep my mind busy with this almost 2 year old girl that has found her superhero self...Something poetic about a kid that is unaware of everything but yet aware of it all...
Speechless but full of wisdom...

This week other than school work my plans were quite simple.
Until I was challenged...To go out and find my superhero self.
My superpower?

Have a great week peeps and Stay Super Sweet!

  2. I don't know how I will 'let go'? I guess trust or have faith .... but it will be hard.

  3. It is always hard to know that I will have to "let go" of my girl when she wants to venture out on her own. Just thinking about it makes my heart ache. I guess in a way, letting go is a super power and we as super heros grow stronger when we learn it is ok to do so.

  4. You never let go, you only try to look as if you have.

  10. I don't think we ever truly let go -- we just don't hang on to them so tightly.

Lovely post and sentiment. Thank you for sharing at Rural Thursday. :)

  11. Great pics and post! I have 2 little girls under 3 and I agree with everyone else I don't think there will ever be a time I truly "let go".
