The End Of The World...

I keep hearing through all social media networks that the world is ending on Saturday the 21st. In the meantime I keep planning a birthday Luau for my girl. I am not certain of the reasoning behind all of the doomsday predictions not sure why so many are eager for this perfect planet to be destroyed but I am planning a Luau. I will be celebrating her and a string of girlfriends that are all born under the month of  May.

When I was 15 years of age my parents left me homeless...they quit gave up and sent me on my way... that was my end of the world as we know it. That moment became definitive and transforming and I learned that no matter how painful our early experiences were our essence cannot be damaged or broken. We continue to be whole even when we think we are broken. Our essence... our true self and the inner flame that is always burning bright for all to see and feel are within us shining bright.

Our essence is waiting for the opportunity to reveal itself it's waiting for us to allow it to bloom. In a very true sense, we are waiting for the chance that one moment to let go...to become ourselves. Our spirit wants to break free... to express itself.

And yet, ironically and willfully we always fear and resist opening to that which is most absolute in us. When we trust is the process of trusting our essence and give ourselves over to it our true nature comes forth. The result is real... integrity, love, authenticity, character, boldness, creativity, understanding, guidance, joy, power and serenity- all of the qualities we are forever demanding that personality supply. Qualities we all wish were found within each of us and that we are clear to see within each human we come into contact with.

This week I am celebrating my daughter and myself and I will be singing... I am not letting the past catch up with me... I will celebrate myself and her because although the hand that I was dealt was not the winning hand I have learned to play with whatever hand is dealt... I am not folding and I am taking chances.
Because I am certain the game is worth playing... Its not the end of the world at least not for me...

 Not just yet...

  1. this is absolutely lovely, and so true... I've not heard any of this end of the world nonsense, but remember back on December 31st, 1999? hype... people get swept up in silly hype because I guess it's easier to immerse ourselves in distraction that face life authentically...

    truly, this was lovely!

  2. You know its my birthday on May 21st. How inconsiderate to end the world on my birthday lol seriously though your post touched me, what strength you carry within. How lucky for your children that they have you to show them a better way xxx

  3. You are so strong - for yourself and your children. And I, for one, am only counting on your luau, not the end of the world! I hope you have a very happy and full May 21st!

  7. That's a very touching post. Your daughter is a mini version of you....same eyes...same everything. I agree, plan your luau, sing, laugh and have a blast. I heard this end of world stuff and I don't believe it!

  8. You both, your daughter and you, are positively stunning young ladies. I love your positive attitude and the fact that you are not letting your past predict your future.

Luau's are so much fun especially for Birthdays. I hope she has the best Birthday ever.

That is the first I have heard about the world ending and I have to laugh about that. I don't know about anyone else but if I don't die before, I will be here when the Lord comes back :). But that's just my belief. I understand and respect everyone's opinion, even if I do find it funny sometimes. Shame on me, I'll send my self to bed *with coffee and a book).
