I want a sister...

I never knew the love of a sister. I craved it constantly.
I wanted a sister...
Like no other... harder than I could ever crave chocolate...
Now as grown woman I can say...
I craved a sister and still crave sisterhood.
I knew when I became a mother I wanted to at least have two daughters to share a life together.
I wanted them to create that kind of fairy tale dream bond that every mother has for their daughters.
Where they share secrets protect and love each other forever.
A bond that is unspoken.
Since I could only fantasize of such... it was unspoken and it is...wordless...unimagined.
Often I wondered...
What would it be like to have an older sister or little sister to protect?
To braid her hair... talk about boys and completely cover for and protect...

I really wanted a sister...

And guess who else wanted one?

I am so glad the universe brought us one for her. Because I can't think of no one more deserving of a little sister. She cares and protects in such loving ways... She has taught me to love... to a whole new level.

I don't know if it's fairy tales...

but I believe...

I believe these two are going to be close.

  5. I always wanted a sister too....
I asked my mom for a sister until I was 16, then I gave up hope. Going through life I have yet to develop really close bonds with women, most of my pals are guys.
I long for that one close girl friend to share everything with.
Your pics are adorable, you are so blessed to have them, and in turn they are blessed to have each other and you!

  6. What a sweet post. I'm happy your dream came true, for your daughter. I have a sister. I was born, on her 4th birthday. Imagine that. We're as different as day and night. I'm not sure if that is why, but we're not close....at all. It appears to be a very forced relationship, that is often completely inactive. BUT....I have new faith in my girls, and my boys, and all of them together, as brothers & sisters, and family as it SHOULD be. Keeping them connected is, and will always be, part of my life's work, if it is the last thing I do.
I'll be following you back now. Nice to 'meet' you. : )
