Forty...

I have been packing up the last days left in my thirties tucking them in my memory box. All of these moments and emotions not leaving anything behind. The sweet and the bitter becomes all tangled up. Even though I would love to compartmentalize each memory but there is no logic to it. These memories need to be together not separated for they have allowed me to get here. Getting to know myself has been the most amazing journey but my mind is eager to grasp unto some more.

I've gone back to read a few of my post... I am taking inventory of all the lessons learned. So many confessions so much rawness and of course a heavy dose of vulnerability. I see myself being sculpted and chiseled the transformation has taken years but I like the woman I see in front of the mirror. This version of self is stronger, a bit wiser, patient and for those and many other reasons we should welcome each birthday with grace.

Last year I wrote :
Thirty nine feels good...
I wish to wear and live it loud and proud...
I feel lucky and so very blessed to be here...
Tonight and underneath this moonlit sky...

I welcome thirty nine...

And I did just that. I traveled like never before I established new relationships that I know will last a lifetime. Met friends from each corner of this nation. Began projects that I thought were impossible. Let go... Yes, I let go of things, situations and people that were no longer productive in my life. My dreams became more ambitious and I was not intimidated by them.  Feeling quite capable I now proclaim...

I've lived this year quite loud and proud.

I thought, as I read your blog...wow, it's like you are describing my last years in my 20's! Turning 30 has been good...so I know that turning 40 will be even better.

May your 40's be better than your 30's! #
