I was going to tell about my awesome weekend and all the friends that gather and the cake we baked...
I was going to tell you about hurricane Irene and it looks like it wants to come visit us this way and might force an evacuation on us...
I was going to tell you about the ice cream we ate...
I was going to tell you about Back to School... Maia beginning middle school and how proud we are...
I was going to tell you a funny story about my 1st day of school when I was five...
But I am laying in bed wide awake at 4:30 in the morning and I am listening to my girls while they breathe rhythmically. Because today was one of those days when my heart was in my throat clogging all passage ways and making it impossible to breathe.
My little one is so eager to walk and today she lost her balance used her hand to catch her fall but her forearm was not strong enough. She has what is called a buckle fracture... It just breaks my heart that after 3 kids the last one which should make me by default more experienced breaks something and I could not catch her fall.
The Doctor said it was hurting me more than the child and yes, I am one of those of mothers that can't keep it together when her kid is hurting. I am usually great during emergencies and when times are difficult and someone needs a word of encouragement. But when it comes to the kids... My kids... Nothing works and nothing soothes me. I want them to be healed and I want it to be now. I know there are many things I won't be able to control and I know all I can do is pick her up as she goes along and reassure her it will be okay.
I doubt time will grant me that serenity... I would rather be a martyr and carry within all and any pain...
I also understand that there is nothing I can do...
Only hope when they do fall...
They fall with grace and softly...
Hoping all your landings are swift... Stay sweet peeps...
PS... A Versatile Blogger award while we were out from Musings From The Marsh a fellow blogger that lives on my coast and city check her out let her know you found her while travelling the sweet life...

First of all, Maia looks so grown up and lovely on her first day of school!

Praying Irene passes you by.

I hear ya on the whole mom thing (breaks my heart every time my daughter has gotten hurt)...stuff just happens...hope she feels better and you too! Even a more experienced mom of 3 can't predict the odd accident...don't be so hard on yourself.

So sorry to hear about the owie! I bet she'll be on the mend soon. Sending healing vibes. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the hurricane, the latest reports I saw said that it's going to pass us from a bigger distance than first thought. I'm just hoping we get a heavy dose of rain (which we should). We need it!
Poor baby! I get broken up when my little guys are hurting too, it's just the worst thing ever. I hope she has a speedy recovery! As a mom of two boys, I'm used to one of them always being injured (comes with the territory) but it never makes it any easier.
ReplyDeleteHopping over from the Tuesday Blog Trail! I'd love it if you would stop by my blog to say hi when you have a chance. :)

Poor little baby...I can imagine how you feel - helpless to see her pain and remorseful that you couldn't stop it...I guess that's what makes mothers. Hugs and wishing you and her well.
