The niece arrived... safe and sound... and there are so many emotions as well as observations...
It's haunting and daunting the nature vs. nurture concept. I, now understand that no matter who raises us... We innately have qualities and traits that are bestow upon us at the time of birth... Mannerisms, attitudes and behaviors that are so organic and natural...
Her eyes remind me of him...
My niece Yarah Elisse |
Based on observations this past couple of days while my niece visits... I came to understand that once a soul is here on earth we are already born with a set of fingerprint like qualities and other qualities not so unique that can be only recognized by those that are related biologically to us...
We are enjoying her stay here in Savannah although I catch myself at times watching in disbelief at the similarities and the oh so familiar behaviors and thought process... For sure she is a part of him... Therefore a part of us...
Maia Summer 2011 |
We are eating ice cream, shopping and doing all those girly things that we all enjoy... I am soaking it all up...
About Maia...
Maia this summer has matured in leaps and bounds and I can already feel and see who she will be in the near future... I admire her strength and determination to communicate and to be heard...

ReplyDeleteI visited relatives in Savannah, GA for the first time this last December. The city is lovely and captured my heart with all the live oaks and historical buildings. I enjoyed my visit so much! Thanks for the memories revisited. I am a photo nut and loved yours. I share a lot of photos on my writing blog.
I found your blog from The Weekend Creation Blog Hop.
