One True Love... Two Doves...

I believe the winter holidays is about taking it all in.
No expectations...childlike wonderment and magic.
I refuse the madness and losing my mind buying presents is unacceptable.
To me the holidays is about retreating with loved ones a time for us to take stock...
As if the earth tells us to go inwards to contemplate and just breathe.
To spend time with each other...

Indoors...
Enjoying a homemade soup that has been simmering all day on the stove...
Spending an evening in front of a fireplace that will replace the TV...
Watching them decorate the tree...

Making memories...
As the twinkling lights were reflecting in their eyes I swear I could see sacred.
Then they look at me and smile as if they hear me like an echo...

We will be making something out of nothing...

Tomorrow I will host some friends for my yearly holiday sweets party...
This year I have asked that we all show up wearing pajamas.
Perfect for when they leave, I am ready for bed...  a friend pointed out ...
Stay Sweet Peeps!

  1. We haven't even started with the shopping. I refuse to let that take over. We've had some pleasant gatherings, Christmas parties and projects we've done. I rather do that a thousand times more than going to the mad house..but you know..with little kids..Santa has to come!

  7. I just wanted to say.....thank you!

As I wrote in Alma's new blog she started today and so I wanted to share with you too...

Adriana and Alma will inspire my new journey of growing an interest for reading.

As you may or may not know, I've never read an entire book. Returning to college has enlightened my life in many ways specifically acknowledging that there are many people out there like me, those who hate to read, where it always made me feel inferior and insecure. I have always been told you have to find something you are interested in and start reading there, but I never knew what really interested me.

Turning 40 has given me a new outlook on the world, a new perspective on the way I see things now, a new me and here is where "Alma and ADRIANA" step in the picture. You two, wonderful blessings in my life, my dearest cousins, will travel with me as I endeavor in my new journey. I have found what has caught my attention, inspiring an interest within me to read. Reading your blogs has awaken a desire for reading more and more. Therefore, as I become more educated in furthering my education and accomplishing my degree, I will practice my daily readings with much more than my college reading materials and add reading your blogs into my educational journey.

So, thank you for sharing these pictures, thank you for starting your blogs and thank you for enlightening my reading desires :) LOVE YA ALWAYS, como ya tu sabes!!!

  8. A party that you get to wear your PJ's to and eat sweets all night? That sounds like my kind of party. Hope it's a success!
